In case you needed extensive liner notes, here they iz.  What is all this shit?!?!?  Why is it here?!?!?!  Well there are very GOOD reasons why.  F'rinstance, when I used to listen to WIP-AM sports radio back in the 90's, I think it was a gag they used to do every time Steve Carlton was mentioned; they'd play "See You In Durango" line by Humphrey Bogart from TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE.
We have a few George Michael trax.  One is "PRAYING FOR TIME" - the lead single from his 1990 follow-up to his blockbuster album "FAITH".  At the time, this slow dirge was a little disappointing after the heiney-shakers on FAITH, but now . . . listening to the lyrics and the music, it's kinda a masterpiece.  Sorry, George.  He also sings a couple covers including one of my favourite Elton John songs "Idol" from the BLUE MOVES album (what else?!?!?!) as well as Nina Simone's classic "FEELIN' GOOD".
The entire Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band is here; interspersed throughout.  They were best known to me for the Dr. Demento Show perennial "THE EGGPLANT THAT ATE CHICAGO" which is here, of course.
We have several tracks from a Country music hits album which, for some reason, are lumped into about 4 or 5 songs per track.  And archive.org dint list all the artists -- only the first artist in the bunch.  The track starting off with Patsy Cline's "WALKIN' AFTER MIDNIGHT" skips almost non-stop but the songs after it play OK so don't get your saddle in a twist!
DIN DAA DAA is back for a repeat performance because . . . well, because it is.  I've been thinking a lot about Paul lately and this song obviously conjured up the three of us on road trips.  There are quite a few other songs which conjure up these times; ESPECIALLY Journey's song "STILL THEY RIDE" -- here performed live -- which conjures up the three of us still ruling the night!  Also, the fact that Paul, Meg & I saw Journey live at the Spectrum in 1986 don't hoit either.  Plus, you may remember I bought a bootleg cassette tape of the very concert I was at from a table at the Moorestown Mall (when the Mall did that).
Kermit Schafer's entire album "BEST OF THE BLOOPERS" is here.  I know I had (and still have) a couple of Schafer's bloopers records but the damn Harry Morgan "Water Heater" ain't on them.  I know YOU also had a Kermit Schafer bloopers record which you put on an early cerpts tape; was this the one.  I admit I haven't listened completely to this entire album yet before putting it on this Cerpts Dingle Dangle Dongle so I'm hoping it's here!
Ah, I see we come to the racist portion of this cerpts.  A DARKIE CHUCKLE is from a 78 rpm record and the racism is totally unnecessary EVEN FOR AN OLD 78 when such things were common.  Because this is an INSTRUMENTAL so there was definitely NO REASON to name the song that!
A couple tracks from the RCA Camden Rockers appear from one of those song hits knockoff records NOT by the original artists.  I'm assuming this record was a local affair cut at RCA in Camden, NJ.
There are also a few tracks by Ruth Welcome and her awesome zither!  Never heard of her before but the zither was made famous and briefly popular by THE THIRD MAN.
A couple songs by the 50 Guitars of Tommy Garrett leave me wondering why it doesn't sound like NEARLY 50 guitars on these tracks.  Maybe 5 or 6 but 50?!?!?!  I call shenanigans!!!
I found an ancient Rodney Dangerfield album (here in it's entirety) from around 1960 or something.  I mean, the person introducing Rodney calls him a "young comedian" or something like that.  I mean, holy crapola this is an old album!!!
The several tracks by Der Schrage Otto (translating into Crazy Otto) are surprisingly not the first time I encountered this ragtime, honky tonk piano as my mother had an ancient 45 rpm record of a song called "The Crazy Otto" which apparently had some legs and was a moderate hit song back in the day.  I'm almost positive I put the Crazy Otto record on a previous Cerpts but here are some more from what appears to be a crazy German.
Old favourite Paul Hecht (from the HAUNTED HOUSE spoken word record) and Ellen Holly read poems by Stephen Dunning from REFLECTIONS ON A GIFT OF WATERMELON PICKLE . . . AND OTHER MODERN VERSE (the entire album of which is here).  I was a little hesitant when I found this album but the poems are surprisingly good, funny and interesting and I kinda loved them.
Pat Paulsen appeared on Rowan & Martin's LAUGH-IN (among other places) in the late 60's and actually really ran for president.  This album is from a little after that.
I've shovelled in several excerpts (what could be MORE appropriate for a Cerpts?!?!?!) from the venerable BBC radio programme DESERT ISLAND DISCS.  Among them are my beloved Felicity Kendal (from THE GOOD LIFE, SOLO and ROSEMARY & THYME), Helene Hanff (author of 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD), British bombshell Diana Dors (FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE, BERSERK, THEATER OF BLOOD and the HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR episode "CHILDREN OF THE FULL MOON"), comedian Sarah Millican, the venerable & cherished Dr. Carl Sagan (COSMOS)  and Alfred Wainwright (famous for his awesome books on walking the Lake District as well as the TV show WAINWRIGHT WALKS he inspired).
Molly Drake appears with her haunting song "HOW WILD THE WIND BLOWS".  She, of course, was the mother of Nick Drake as well as actress Gabrielle Drake (UFO, THE KELLY MONTEITH SHOW).
I've included here the first song I ever heard by Cheryl Wheeler as well as Loreena McKennitt.  I first time I ever heard them both was on Gene Shay's folk music radio show on WHYY-FM back around 1986 or so.  I now worship the ground Cheryl Wheeler plays guitar on.  She co-wrote this song with Janis Ian; another fave from back when I was a kid in the early 1970s.  The first Loreena McKennitt song I ever heard was STANDING STONES and I immediately fell in love with it.  A couple years later, I found the CD the song was on at STRAWBERRIES when the doddy and I were shopping after having din-dins at McDonald's the well-known Scottish cuisine place.  Of course, Doddy had to interrupt shopping to go next door to the Chinese Restaurant and blow up their bathroom!  However, when Doddy came back in STRAWBERRIES and saw the Loreena McKennitt cd I was buying, he said "You buy some WEIRD stuff".  Yeah, this from the future Wicky-Wacky-Wiccan!
The Carpenters covered Klaatu's CALLING OCCUPANTS OF INTERPLANETARY CRAFT.  When Klaatu first release their album, a lot of people thought they were actually the Beatles getting back together under an assumed name.  I can sorta kinda almost see how some people would've thought that but come on!  Some people will believe anything.
DANCE HALL DAYS by Wang Chung.  I bought the 45 when it came out and still have it (with the picture sleeve).  This was a Darryl Glick song.  Oh yes, it was.
FATAL HESITATION was the actual song I loved on that Chris De Burgh LADY IN RED record.  NOT the LADY IN RED song.  I never liked it that much; ESPECIALLY when everyone and their beaches fell all over themselves about it.  Nah, I got the cassette single of FATAL HESITATION (which had "THE LADY IN RED" on the flip side.  Oh yeah, and my Dad Mikey bought the vinyl record album at the time as well.  But FATAL HESITATION is the awesome song from THAT album -- no contest!
